Tips and advice on how businesses can “Get to Grips with their Finances” and prepare for economic recovery were served up at a breakfast seminar held in The Liberty Stadium, Swansea.

Around 120 businesses from across the Swansea Bay region attended the Recovery not Recession event.

The event was organised by Swansea Bay Partnership in association with the West Wales Chamber of Commerce.

It was the first in a planned series of Recovery not Recession events, which will be held across the Bay during the coming year.

Speakers included Alison Vickers, from Bevan & Buckland Chartered Accountants, who delivered top tips on cash flow management.

She said: “The event was a great success and provided a platform for business professionals to reach out to businesses in the area with advice and suggestions to help them through these challenging times”.

The event provided businesses with practical hands on information and advice in dealing with the current difficult trading conditions with positive strategies for preparing for the upturn.

Other speakers at the event included: Steve Smith, from Handelsbanken, Lynne Robson, of Riverside Consultancy, and Rowland Jones of Rowland Jones Chartered Surveyors.  Speakers focused on areas such as negotiating skills, property, and banking relationships.

Philip Evans, of LBS Builders Merchants who attended the seminar, said “It has been an informative event and great for networking and discussing common issues.  We would certainly think of attending future Swansea Bay Partnership events”.
