Highest nominations to date for Youth Awards 

The organisers of the Swansea Bay Young Achiever Awards have been staggered by the response to this year’s competition.  Over 85 nominations have been received across four of the categories, an increase of 20%. 

The award’s, organised by the Swansea Bay Partnership and sponsored by gas distribution company Wales & West Utilities (WWU), recognise and celebrate the achievements of young people across the Swansea Bay region. 

The nominees will be short listed with 3 finalists from each category going on to attend the awards ceremony, which will be held at Margam Orangery, on Friday 5^th June. 

The evening will be hosted by Badger & Emma from 96.4FM The Wave and will feature live music from local bands. 

Event coordinator, Sarah Toomey said: “The level of interest we have received has been fantastic and as organisers we have been amazed by the high quality of nominations.  This is going to make the job of the judges an extremely tough one.”
